Metalon® Conductive Inks

You are here

Metalon® conductive inks capitalize on advanced materials and formulation to provide conductivity options for additive manufacturing of printed electronics like photovoltaic devices, RFID, smart cards/labels, displays, and advanced packaging. Metalon inks with solderable, resistive, magnetic and stretchable conductive properties are also offered.

Utilizing nanoparticles and flakes, Metalon inks are available in off-the-shelf formulations as well as custom formulations for specific applications and print methods. Variants already developed include silver inks suitable for application by inkjet, screen, flexographic printing, and gravure. Copper-oxide reduction inks are also available for ink-jet, screen, flexographic, or gravure application. Metalon inks can be selected based on desired substrates, performance, and cost.

PERFORMANCE

Sheet resistances as low as 4 milliohms per square and resistivities as low as 1.5X bulk have been attained with the Metalon silver inks. Sheet resistances below 10 milliohms per square and resistivities as low as 3X bulk have been attained with Metalon copper-oxide inkjet reduction inks. Performance varies depending on print method and substrate, and curing used.

KEY FEATURES

Low-Temp Substrates

Metalon conductive inks are designed specifically for use with low-temperature substrates including paper, polycarbonate, PET, and other plastics are available.

Water -Based

Metalon conductive inks are primarily water-based for ease of handling, clean-up, and for environmental consideration.

Copper Thin-Film

Metalon ICI copper-oxide reduction inks convert to copper thin-film upon processing with a PulseForge® tool in open air.

Inexpensive

Metalon ICI inks are as inexpensive as $75/kg in volume quantities.

Silver Inkjet

Metalon JS-series silver inks can be thermally cured with improved performance possible using PulseForge processing.

Silver Screen Inks

Metalon HPS-series silver screen inks can cure with temperatures as low as 80C.
