AUSTIN, TX (October 31, 2005) - NANOTECHNOLOGIES, Inc., a leader in high-performance nanoparticle synthesis and applications, today announced the appointment
of Steve Leach as Chief Executive Officer. In his new position, Leach will be responsible for the company's overall strategic direction, with emphasis on
developing the company's product and application roadmap to accelerate commercial programs. Of his new position, Leach said, "This is a very unique company with tremendous potential as we refine our focus on commercializing Advanced Nanoparticle Enabled Applications (ANEASM). The company is well positioned for the next phase of accelerated growth given our strong technology foundation and practical demonstration of enabling applications. Nanotechnologies has a unique position in the market given our outstanding reputation for producing high performance metals and metal oxides. Additionally, the team has built novel application technology in the area of electronics patterning as well as antimicrobial and antiviral platforms. Our company is at the forefront of these and many of other advanced applications." Steve's expertise is in new product development and commercialization and he has been involved in high growth companies and ventures for over twenty years. In 1997, Steve joined Dell Corporation as part of a team recruited to stabilize and grow Dell's corporate notebook business. Most recently, he was the Director of Strategic Investments aligned with Dell Ventures after serving for a number of years in strategic planning for Dell's $8B Home and Small Business Product Group. Prior to his time at Dell, Steve ran Strategic Product Planning for IBM's $5B ThinkPad product line and held a variety of senior roles at Compaq Computer including product engineering, product development and product planning. He is credited with planning and launching Compaq's first $1B notebook computer. |
